Saving Lillys Eyes

Description:
Ten month old Lilliana was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in both eyes on Jan 6th, 2010, after a family member noticed an odd reflection in a photograph. There are approximately 300 cases of Retinoblastoma reported yearly in the United States. This form of cancer affects mainly children and is usually detected before the age of 2. Treatments may include laser surgery, chemotherapy, and possible enucleation (surgical removal of the affected eye).
Lilly's team of medical professionals have started her on an agressive regimen of laser surgeries and chemotherapy in an effort to save her beautiful blue eyes... and her life. Every three weeks Lilly and her parents travel 4 hours away from their home to the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute; for surgery; and then on to Jackson Hospital for 30 hours of chemotherapy. They must be away from home for several days at a time.
Just months before Lilly was diagnosed, the company where her father worked closed their doors. Lilly's mother continues to work during the weeks when they are not traveling for her treatments.
We have opened this page to raise money to help Lilly's parents pay for her mounting medical bills, and their travel and hotel expenses during the long months she will be undergoing chemotherapy.
We urge you to imagine the pain a parent feels when their child is diagnosed with cancer, and then to give until it doesn't hurt anymore.

Thank You
