There comes a time when you need help and need to rely on the goodness of others. We need help and this is why:

We began this journey in July 2000 when we married. We both come from families whose parents have been happily married for over 40 years. We tried right away to have a child and build our family, but after over 7 years of trying we were led toward adoption. We are very fortunate and were able to adopt a beautiful daughter, Aelyn Makenna, from birthparents whom believed a child should be raised with a solid foundation in a stable two parent family. Two years later we want to add to our family through the adoption of another child.

We have saved any monies we could over the last two years without taking away from our family. All available pennies and other fundraisers, from garage sales to selling chocolates, have taken place over the last 2 years….this is another idea with hopes of raising necessary funds.

Excerpt from June 2010 Homestudy for Adoption Approval:
"IMPRESSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION
Rob and Kim wish to adopt another child. They have experienced parenthood through caring for their first daughter, Aelyn, and cannot wait to share their love with another child. They feel that having a child had brought them closer together as a couple. They have now been married for the past nine and a half years and they consider themselves to be best friends and soul mates. They have a relationship based on honesty and love for each other and for children. They enjoy each other's company and share many compatible activities, interests and future goals. One of their primary goals for their future is to expand their family through yet another adoption. Rob and Kim would like to adopt with the help of American Adoptions of Florida, Inc. They would like the child(ren) to be as healthy as possible.

They had experienced a successful first adoption and they are now in a placed in their life where they are ready to welcome another child into their home. Rob and Kim have embraced adoption as their choice of family building. Their friends and family are emotionally supportive of their decision. Rob and Kim are financially stable and rooted within their community. Their home environment is conducive to raising a family. It is felt that Aelyn's needs are adequately cared for and they will provide the same care for another child.

Rob and Kim are caring, loving and nurturing people with a strong moral and ethical value system. Their behaviors are congruent with their personal and spiritual beliefs. Another child(ren) is very much wanted and will be loved by Rob and Kim. They have a strong family and friend support system. They are sensitive to adoption issues, especially regarding domestic adoption, birthparents and for their child(ren). They acknowledge adoption not only as a single event within their family but as an integral part of their family's ongoing life cycle. It is with much pleasure that I approve Robert and Kimberly Peirson to be certified to adopt one to two child(ren).
