Hi everyone!
In 6th grade, I dreamt of being a psychologist. I was the guy who everyone shared their problems with and sought my advise. I was an honors student and high school senior-class president. With so much potential but internal conflict, I destroyed my college scholarship and exhausted all federal loans by falling deep into a world of drugs. I found it hopeless to return back to school. Years passed.
After undergoing in-patient, out-patient, soberliving and aftercare recovery programs for 6 months since November 2009, I moved to Dallas to be close to my family and start a new life outside of Los Angeles. I have struggled for years with my addiction to alcohol and meth but today I am on a solid path of change with 9 months of clean time. No longer will anything stand in the way of my goals and my dreams.
I will be a psychologist...but only if I go back to school and complete my degree. Currently I'm working but want the opportunity to focus only on my 12 step program and full-time undergraduate schooling. I ask for your help so then I may help others. Please give me a second chance and thank you for your kind consideration.
